Fine Group of Illustrated Autograph Letters Signed of which 2 are Illustrated (3), Pen-and-Ink Drawings of Ships (5), and other items (2) addressed to his friend the artist George Sydney WATERLOW (1852-1925), reflecting de Martino's high social standing with the monarchs of Europe (and the Emperor of Brazil), especially accompanying Edward VII on the Royal Yacht, with dates of his recent travels in 1902, beautifully housed in folding window mounts in a bespoke box, with a Checklist, together 10 items, London, Arran, Windsor Castle,

1. London, 1902, Box Lid. Sketch of The Italian Royal Yacht 'Vittorio Emanuele', two tall masts square-rigged under full sail, inscribed in Italian "A Souvenir of the ship and of his friend Eduardo de Martino, London, 1902". Photo reproduction, 4½" x 5¾".
2. No place, no date, inside box lid. Subscription and signature from a letter.
3. No place, 3rd June 1902. Sketch of a vessel with two tall masts in a choppy sea, inscribed 'To my friend G. Waterlow'. 6¼" x 9¾".
4. Arran, August 1902. Sketch of HM Yacht Victoria & Albert under steam with small boats clustered around. 5" x 7½".
5. 2 College Terrace, Swiss Cottage, London N.W., 3rd November 1902. Illustrated Autograph Letter Signed to Waterlow. "... I went with His Majesty Yacht Victoria Albert 14th August till the 9th Sept. on board, and after to Balmoral till the 10th Oct, and also I work all the time ... if you call some day at the studio I will show you. Saturday I go to Sandringham to His Majesty, & to meet the German Emperor, and on the 16th or 17th Inst ... to London, discussing 'the frames' & asking Waterlow 'your dear Son, where is? on board the Magnificent', with a Sketch of a square-rigged vessel tilting at speed. 3 sides 8vo black-edged.
6. Windsor Castle, 20th November 1902. Autograph Letter Signed. "... I arrived with His Majesty on Monday last, to meet the King of Portugal - and I hope Monday to return in London and see you, in case you are up ...". 1 side 8vo.
7. 2 College Terrace, 2nd December 1902. Illustrated Autograph Letter Signed. "... I am very sorry as I am engaged tomorrow with the Italian Ambassador", suggesting Waterlow "come at the Studio Thursday - and lunch with you after ...", he has done "lot sketches during the Cruise and also at Balmoral - Remember me to your Signora", Sketch of a vessel with two tall masts and accompanying small craft. 3 sides 8vo.
8. No place, 1st January 1904. Charming Sketch of a racing yacht at full speed, the waves highlighted in white and inscribed "Happy New Year". 1 side card 3½" x 4½".
9. Fine Sketch of a tall two-masted vessel from the port aft, with (apparently) the Isle of Wight in the background. 4½" x 7"."
10. No place, no date. Sketch of a warship leaning heavily and firing broadside, on an envelope.
