Printed Autograph Letter Signed to Lord Maclean, (Charles Hector Fitzroy, 1916-1990, Lord Chamberlain and Chief Scout, Baron Maclean of Duart and 27th Chief of the Clan), asking him "to convey my warmest thanks to all who contributed to my 80th birthday present ... I am thrilled and delighted to receive such beautiful and varied gifts. They will always be very precious to me ...", with a printed copy of an Autograph Note signed 'Maclean' forwarding the letter, repeating the Queen's appreciation and listing the gifts, including "A painting by Louise Wood of Her Majesty's horse 'Inch Aran'. A Hi-Fi sound system" and "a Grandfather Clock", Duart Castle, Isle of Mull, no date, the Queen Mother's letter 2 sides 8vo, Birkhall, 29th August tiny defect in top left corner where formerly stapled to Lord Maclean's note

Printed Personal Message with her printed signature at the foot, with 'Mrs. M.D. Holder' typed at the bottom, marking "my appreciation of the service you have rendered to your Country in 1939. In the early days of the War you opened your door to strangers ... and offered to share your home with them ... you have sacrificed much of your own comfort" and referring to "the loyal co-operation of all in your household ... you have helped the State in a work of great value", her fine personal coat of arms impaling Bowes-Lyon in full colour, with the original envelope to Mrs Holder in Oxted, Surrey, postmarked Buckingham Palace, 1 side 10¾" x 6¾", no date but end of a little light browning, envelope worn at flap
