Fine Commission Document signed at the head 'George PR' as Regent engraved with details filled in by hand, appointing "John Campbell (2d) Gent." as "First Lieutenant to such Company in such Division of our Corps of Royal Marines as shall from time to time be notified to you ... exercising and well disciplining both the Inferior Officers and Marines of such Company", and observing the "Orders and Directions" of "Our High Admiral or Commissioners .... or ... your Superior Officers ... in pursuance of the Trust hereby reposed in you", countersigned by Commissioners Sir Joseph Sydney YORKE (1768-1831, Admiral), Viscount MELVILLE (Robert Saunders Dundas, 1771-1851, 1st Lord of the Admiralty) and Sir John OSBORN (1772-1848, M.P., 5th Bart.), signed also by Sir John BARROW, (1764-1848, Secretary of the Admiralty), vellum, 1 side oblong folio, Court at Brighton, 1st January

Free pardon, lacking the King's signature at the head, but countersigned by Sir Robert PEEL(1788-1850, Home Secretary, later Prime Minister) for a list of people, "now under sentence of Transportation in the General Penitentiary at Millbank" for felony, beginning "George Brown at Norwich in July 1824", and continuing with Dennis McCarthy, Thomas Coombe, Richard Cook, Caroline Mason, Elizabeth Trunnery, William Newberry, Benjamin Stokes, Ann Roach, and Mary Edwards, each with their place of conviction and date, in the form of a warrant for their release "in consideration of some circumstances humbly represented unto Us", royal papered seal, 2 sides 9½" x 7¾" and conjugate leaf, St. James's, 29th January lacking top portion with signature and corresponding text on verso
