DEPRET
(Edmond, Belgian singer and composer)
Autograph Letter Signed, in French with translation, to M. de Bernhardt,
saying his Requiem Mass is due to be performed at the Queen's Hall in London on the 10th December, and hoping "you will be at your post, and that (if you like genuine religious music) you will give tongue in honour of your old friend's music", and that the English will understand it, "... you will not find a trace of theatrical music about it as one still finds in the requiems of the great modern masters. The whole work is composed with breadth and great severity, in Gregorian style", giving his London address "in the first week of December for the two general rehearsals !", and promising to send two seats, blind embossed ED, 2 sides 8vo and conjugate blank, Beau Site, Massogne, Luxembourg province, Belgium, 21st November
