Finely typed document signed, in English, to the Provisional President of Peru, General Oscar Raimundo Benavides, (1876-1946, President 1914-1915 & 1933-1939), announcing "with deep sorrow ... the death of ... the Prince Maurice Victor Donald of Battenburg, son of Our dear Aunt ... the Princess Henry of Battenberg ... killed in action on the 27th. of October ... in his Twenty-fourth year", confident the President will "share with Us the grief ... tempered ... with the knowledge that the late Prince died in the service of his country", signed also by Sir Edward Grey, (1862-1933, 1st Viscount, Foreign Secretary 1905-1916), fine printed royal titles with royal arms, 2 conjugate sides 14" x 8¼" black-edged, Buckingham Palace, 30th November two neat filing holes in blank margin

Good Unsigned Press Photograph of them in an open landau, in civilian dress, with a mounted escort, the then Prince of Wales waving to the crowd, the Princess looking ahead a little shyly, two footmen in long white coats seated behind them are also about to tip their hats as they drive past the Constitutional Club in Northumberland Avenue off Trafalgar Square, immediately in the background is the shop of G.H. Tuffin who sells Beer and Invalid Stout, the street is garlanded and the first floor balconies packed with spectators, 10" x 12", London, no date, circa laid down on card, a few closed tears and small defects in the edges, but a bright and sharp print
