Background
It is very rare to find photos of the Empress as she was not photographed after 1874. Sisi was Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary from her marriage to Emperor Franz Joseph I on 24th April 1854 until her assassination in 1898. Ludwig ANGERER (1827-1879) was an Austrian photographer who founded the first photo studio in Vienna and was appointed k.k. court photographer by Emperor Franz Joseph I. He is also known for taking some of the earliest photographs of Bucharest.
