(Princess of Prussia, 1860-1919, eldest daughter of his sister Victoria, wife of Friedrich III), sending "a few lines" to thank her "for your very kind letter received yesterday" and her brother Henry for his, "we are only too happy to hear that you liked our little presents for your Confirmation. Now that your 'Verlobung' [engagement] is officially announced I must offer you my warmest congratulations and hope that the greatest event in your life, will be productive of the greatest possible happiness", adding that "As your marriage is not to be till next year, I hope we shall see you in England before that time, & that Bernhard may also be tempted to come over", ending "Aunt Alix sends you her best love & with ours to your dear 'Geschwister' [brothers & sisters] ... your devoted 'Uncle Bertie' ", embossed monogram AE within the Garter, Marlborough House, 4 sides 7" x 4½"
