The Whitehaven Colliery Visitor's Book for 1927 signed (Edward P) at the head of the first page,
above the names of the rest of his party, Lord LONSDALE (Lowther, Hugh Cecil Lowther,5th Earl, 1857-1944, Sportsman), Sir Godfrey THOMAS (1889-1968, Private Secretary to the Prince of Wales), Herbert W. Walker, G. Mure Ritchie, R. S. Hudson, Thoms Black, Frank Hols, M. Kennedy & W. H. Johnson, the page is headed Haig Pit and dated 30th June 1927, there are then three more pages of signatures including the "Safety in mines Limbering Committe, 8 May 1929", together with a fine photo of the Prince's visit showing him walking with his party at the colliery, 6½" x 5" in mount 10" x 8", 4to., bound in red morocco,
