The Princess Louise [1848-1939] ... and John ... Marquis of Lorne [1845-1914, later 9th Duke of Argyll] ... was solemnized at Windsor Castle on the 21st of the present Month", the President's "Friendship ... on other occasions" assures the Queen "that You will unite with Us in wishes that the Union may be crowned with Happiness", and recommending him "to the Protection of the Almighty", signed also by Foreign Secretary Granville (1815-1891, 2nd Earl), 2 sides folio with narrow black edges, Windsor Castle, 31st March

Document with her large bold signature at the head, addressed to Farrer Herschell, (1837-1899, Q.C. 1872, Solicitor-General 1880, Lord Chancellor and 1st Baron 1886), being a Licence to Plead on behalf of Richard Wilson, Railway Labourer of Falkin, Cumberland, at his coming trial at Carlisle for Felony, Wilson having petitioned the Queen to that effect, "having in all the proceedings relating to the said Indictment" consulted with Herschell, "who may be very useful to the Petitioner ... in the Trial", the Queen granting him "Our Royal Licence ... as often as there shall be occasion", signed also by Henry Austin Bruce, (1815-1895, Home Secretary, 1869-1873, from 1873 1st Baron Aberdare), 2 sides 12" x 8", papered royal seal and 10/- embossed revenue stamp, Court of St James's, 28th January

Engaging Unsigned Carte-de-visite Portrait Photograph, showing them all full length, the Crown Princess seated, nearly full face, with her right hand thoughfully to her cheek, in a satin dress, Princess Sophie in the left of the image is seated in profile reading a book on her mother's knee, while Princess Margarete stands nearly full face to the camera, her right hand on her mother's shoulder, in a velvet dress with white sleeve patches matching her sister's, 4" x 2½", no place, no date, circa very lightly browned but an attractive image

[VICTORIA (1819-1901, Queen of Great Britain)]

Enormous Commemorative Saltglaze Jug finely moulded and elaborately designed, on one side is the young Queen, head and shoulders, in profile, on the other is her mother Mary Adelaide, nearly full face, both portraits are surrounded by garlands and the top of the jug is decorated with flowers, on the front is the Lion and Unicorn, 10 inches high, the handle has been professionally repaired at some time
